Your income against every region's median.
This survey publishes the median and mean per region, but not the full income distribution, so we compare your income to each region's median rather than claim a percentile. The median sits at the halfway notch; a full bar is roughly twice the local median.

The mean net monthly labor income in Chile was CLP 962,945 in 2025 (INE, Encuesta Suplementaria de Ingresos 2025). The median was much lower at CLP 680,000: half of all workers earned that amount or less. The mean sits 42% above the median because top salaries pull the average up; 68.7% of workers earn at or below the national mean. On this page incomes are annualized, so the median is CLP 8,160,000 per year.
Only 29.4% of employed people earned CLP 1,000,000 or more net per month in 2025. Just 9.6% reached CLP 2,000,000, and only 4.3% earned CLP 3,000,000 or more. So a net monthly income around CLP 2,000,000 already puts you close to the top 10% of earners in Chile, and CLP 3,000,000 puts you in roughly the top 4%.
INE's inequality indicators for ESI 2025 put the average income of the top decile at CLP 4,059,729 per month, which is 18.5 times the bottom decile's average of CLP 219,027. Those decile figures are standardized to a typical 189-hour work month, so they are slightly different from raw monthly incomes, but they show the scale of the gap.
The median net monthly labor income was CLP 680,000 in 2025, up from CLP 611,162 in 2024. For men the median was CLP 701,985 and for women CLP 600,253, a gap of about 14%. The ESI measures net income, after social security contributions and taxes.
Antofagasta, driven by mining, has the highest regional median at CLP 830,350 per month, followed by Magallanes (CLP 800,000) and the Metropolitana region around Santiago (CLP 740,312). The lowest median is La Araucanía at CLP 550,232, about 1.5 times less than Antofagasta.
The ESI is a module of Chile's national employment survey (ENE) and measures each employed person's net income from their main occupation. Since the 2021 redesign, INE no longer publishes household-level income, so no household comparison is possible from this source. Figures are net (take-home) and monthly; this page multiplies them by 12 to show annual values.
