The median was much lower at CLP 680,000: half of all workers earned that amount or less. The mean sits 42% above the median because top salaries pull the average up; 68.7% of workers earn at or below the national mean. On this page incomes are annualized, so the median is CLP 8,160,000 per year.

The ESI is a module of Chile's national employment survey (ENE) and measures each employed person's net income from their main occupation. Since the 2021 redesign, INE no longer publishes household-level income, so no household comparison is possible from this source. Figures are net (take-home) and monthly; this page multiplies them by 12 to show annual values.
